"Car breaks down veterans expressway out of walking distance to exits. Hot day, unable to roll down windows, no water in the car. I was just returning from picking up a new phone so it wasn't fully set up and had around 8% battery. Couldn't access the app as I hadn't downloaded it yet. Called state farm and got the runaround and was frantic my phone was going to die and I would be in real trouble. I explained this to the agent I finally reached after using 3% of what little battery I had playing 20 questions to get to a person and the rep hangs up on me. Call back and finally get out through to get the car towed. They need an extra 98.00 I now have to scramble to the woods where I was laying under a tree trying to stay out of the heat to find my wallet which fell out of my scrubs. The woman on the other end is obtuse beyond words and her only concern is getting that payment while I'm waiting for my phone to die. No common sense. No morals, no ethics, no compassion whatsoever. I finally give her the credit card info and tell her what I think of her conduct and she hangs up and intentionally doesn't run the card knowing that will leave me stranded. I was able to get another person who sent a truck which broke down but at least brought water and helped me charge phone. The total time on the side of the road over 4 hours at the he hottest time of the day. Call state farm. They appreciate my feedback. No! This requires more than feedback! They transfer to my agent who can't do a thing to address this after I told thecall center representative not to do so.. I got Devin on the phone who was incredibly rude and unprofessional and also demonstrated a complete lack of basic customer service. For starters, he continued to accuse me of yelling. I am a veteran with a service connected hearing loss and I speak loudly. Perhaps Devin needs a lesson about the ADA. Then I asked to speak with someone else. He refused to put the call to another agent and hung up on me. I called back and confronted him about this and he stated I didn't want a resolution to the problem and that's why he hung up. I asked him at what time I made any such claim and then asked him if the calls were recorded to which he responded "I don't know". I told him I wanted this escalated to corporate and he told me there was NO WAY to contact corporate which is also a lie. I spoke to someone from corporate within 2 hours of his conduct as I told him I would. He then gave me the number to Ryan and I left him a message which as of this writing has been ignored. When you put someone in literal harms way they have a right to be angry. If Devin doesn't have the emotional and intellectual maturity to grasp this and deal with angry customers he shouldn't be answering phones. I will now be escalating this to consumer affairs. I am also writing a formal complaint on the BBB website. My issue was NEVER with the agency until Devin got involved. As a result I will be cancelling my policy and moving to another insurance carrier even if I have to pay more money. I was no doubt suffering from heat exhaustion within the first hour. By the end of the day when I finally got the tow truck I was dizzy, weak and seeing spots, likely moving on to potential heat stroke which is life threatening. I'm a trauma nurse. But I guess when you are potentially in a serious crisis it's best to remember that it's the fragile egos of people supposedly trained to deal with situations like this that have to be coddled if you expect help. The lack of any empathy, compassion, critical thinking skills or common sense that were on display is remarkable. I've never had an issue with anyone in this office but unfortunately when you need something addressed things go south quickly. The owner has been contacted by me and the agency staff and has chosen to ignore me. If state farm wants to treat their customers in this manner they are not a company I will continue to do business with. This is not a company that values veterans or first responders."

"I am sorry you feel the way you do regarding all your recent interactions. Several representatives tried assisting you and they all had a similar situation. I wasn't ignoring your call, my staff advised you of my availability and schedule and unfortunately I wasn't able to conform to your time demand you left in your voicemail. The best part about free enterprise is one's ability to choose a company that best suits their needs. I wish you all the luck finding happiness."
